Washington DC -June 16- U.S. Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee Chairman Blanche Lincoln, (D-Ark.), and Ranking Member Saxby Chambliss, (R-Ga.), have sent a letter to Richard A. Lidinsky, Jr., Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission, expressing concern with reports that U.S. agricultural exporters are experiencing serious service issues with the foreign-flagged ocean carrier industry.

Washington DC -April 16- USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack has invited public comment on several proposed rules designed to increase the production of advanced biofuels and the development of biorefineries. The programs are authorized under the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 (The Farm Bill).

Washington DC - April 15 - Working gas in storage was 1,756 Bcf as of Friday, April 9, 2010, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 87 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 64 Bcf higher than last year at this time.

Washington DC - April 15 - The Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported that U.S. freight railroads saw a 7.5 percent rise with 16 of the 19 major commodity categories tracked by AAR recording higher carloads during March compared with the same month last year.

Washington DC - April 14 - The U.S. Import Price Index rose 0.7 percent in March, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. The increase was attributable to higher prices for both fuel and nonfuel imports and followed a 0.2 percent decline in February.
