Washington DC -May 26- Sales of new one-family houses in April 2010 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 504,000, according to estimates released jointly today by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is 14.8 percent (±19.5%)* above the revised March rate of 439,000 and is 47.8 percent (±26.0%) above the April 2009 estimate of 341,000.

Washington DC -May 14- A contract employee who worked at Preston Smith International airport in Lubbock, Texas, Johnathan Ivins, 20, was arrested by FBI agents late yesterday at his residence in Lubbock County on charges in a federal indictment alleging offenses related to his threat to bomb an airplane, announced U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the Northern District of Texas.

Washington DC -May 11- Congressman Leonard Lance today called for a full investigation into Sunday’s emergency landing of a Tokyo-bound Continental Airlines plane. According to news reports, 170,000 pounds of fuel oil had been released over Somerset and Middlesex counties during the plane’s return trip to Newark Airport.

Washington DC - March 31 - The International Air Transport Association announced that February 2010 international scheduled air traffic showed continued strengthening of demand. Compared to February 2009, passenger demand was up 9.5%, while cargo demand grew 26.5%.
